ABSTRACT

The Cuban revolution is worthy of study because it presents us with an example of what a revolutionary state tried to do, how it went about it, and what resulted from the effort. Since this shift in production occurred just as the British began their industrial revolution, the steam engine was soon introduced into the refining of sugar. It was only in early 1962 that a revolutionary party began to form, and it held its first party congress thirteen years later. In the first two years of the revolution two major trends developed. At present, 96-97 percent of all the children of primary school age go to school. This situation continued until the last years of the Nixon administration, when unofficial talks began. In early May 2004, the US government released a 500-page document indicating what it intends to do once the revolution has been overthrown.
