ABSTRACT
There are certain things that we must do or not do in order to live a morally decent life. Are there also things that we must believe or not believe in order to avoid the charge of moral indecency? With advances in technology, and the emergence of a global village, we can no longer justify our ignorance about various social injustices by appealing to a lack of accessible information about the world. If we can justify our ignorance, it is becoming more difficult to do so, and the conditions that make this possible are changing. In this essay, I will argue that a commitment to acquiring knowledge about morally significant aspects of the world is an important component of a moral life.
