ABSTRACT
1 The name Antera is probably Ntiero in Efik, and is peculiar to the Duke family of Duke Town. Besides the author of this diary, Waddell (1863, pp. 337, 498) mentions an Antera Duke, while an Efik gentleman named Ntiero Efiom Duke now lives in Calabar.
