ABSTRACT
This lesson plan presents an opportunity to review music fundamentals through team challenges. It is designed to emphasize the importance of mastery through a variety of games, some of which require solving riddles. Topics include clefs, key signatures (major and minor), major and minor scales, scale degrees, rhythmic note and rest values, simple and compound meter, beaming, rhythmic transposition, intervals, triads, and common rules of notation. This lesson plan can be used by the teacher of record or a substitute. Materials can be found in the lesson plan itself and in the supplementary online resources.
