ABSTRACT
The chapter investigates the concept of ways to synthetically connect to the real objects by metaphorically unlocking the glass case. The ‘smartness’ that the digital embraced somehow opened doors and was especially attractive to the younger generation, who are acknowledged to more difficult to reach in the museum domain. The National Waterfront Museum Swansea is a Heritage Lottery Fund -funded museum designed by architectural practice Wilkinson Eyre. The concept of presenting an array of moving objects that can be passed through a scanning device provides a fascinating kinetic mechanism that captures and interprets objects as they pass through space.
