ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter offers a critical assessment of what promise that kinship may hold as an analytical category in the discipline of IR. Drawing on observations from the preceding chapters of this volume, the chapter identifies and discusses four ways in which the kinship system orders social reality: through blood, practices, metaphors and discursive mobilization.
