ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 concludes the book. It focuses on the process of working with co-constructed data and how this can be seen as a polyphonic and future-forming endeavour. When researchers return to their offices and revisit their data with the purpose of publishing their research, they move from one unique ‘somewhere’ into another ‘somewhere’. However, the same reality-generating aspects that appeared when the researcher initially co-authored and co-researched the data also appear in the subsequent work. To work with data is a continual co-constructive polyphonic and future-forming endeavour. To illustrate this, five practices with relevance for a relational constructionist perspective are presented: 1) engaging in reflective pragmatism, 2) embracing radical presence, 3) striving toward before-the-fact thinking, 4) relying on resonance as a way to move forward and 5) turning writing into living events. The chapter concludes by inviting readers to implement the perspectives, ideas, and practices presented in the book in their subsequent research.
