ABSTRACT
This chapter surveys some points of contact – conceptual, topical, and methodological – between contemporary vice epistemology and feminist epistemology and philosophy of science. I provide an overview of contemporary virtue and vice epistemologies, pointing out points of similarity and difference with feminist epistemological perspectives on the sciences. The main questions are (i) what are distinctively feminist analyses of epistemic vices in science and (ii) what sorts of changes would vice epistemology need to align it with feminist goals and methods. The chapter ends by sketching some topics for future integrative work on feminist vice epistemologies of science.
