ABSTRACT
A meticulous bitemark examination will profile the arrangement of the perpetrator’s teeth. This assessment may in turn assist investigators in developing a potential suspect. When authorities have identified the potential biter, his/her dental records provide the basis for comparison with the bitemark known as bitemark analysis. The results from this comparison culminate with the forensic dentist’s opinion of a possible, probable, positive, or negative correlation.
