ABSTRACT

Several university theater education and applied theater programs include drama pedagogy as a central aspect of their curriculum. Compared to a theatrical production, drama is an “improvisational, non-exhibitional, processes-centered form of the work where participants are guided by a leader to imagine, enact, and reflect on the human experience”. When utilized as a teaching method, drama pedagogy offers unique opportunities to consider teaching as a relational practice, regardless of subject matter or content area.
