ABSTRACT

Many of the papers presented at gatherings such as this deal with automating the processes associated with periodicals. In working on this project, my colleagues and I were concerned with automation of the periodicals themselves. This paper briefly presents the results of a survey of current use of electronic technologies in accessing periodical literature and discusses the implications of the findings as well as some of the theoretical and practical considerations involved. Because of the limitations of our time here, I will present a shortened version of the responses, but if any of you are interested in more detail, please leave your name and we will send you more complete information.
