ABSTRACT
Anyone with only a slight knowledge of sci-tech libraries is likely to realize soon after working in and with them that journals are the backbone of most libraries devoted to science and technology. The reasons are many – the ability of journals to present current information, the fact that articles are often written on very specific topics, the great variety of topics covered, etc. Scientists and engineers would be lost if the supply of journals suddenly disappeared through some disastrous set of circumstances.
