ABSTRACT

As the editor of this collection, I am proud to present Movement and Visual Impairment: Research Across Disciplines, the first focused review of research and scholarship pertaining to individuals with visual impairments across movement-related disciplines. This book highlights the latest research and scholarship in 14 movement-related disciplines and provides an in-depth look at empirical research focused on individuals with visual impairments. This book, Movement and Visual Impairment: Research across Disciplines, expands beyond prior works focused on one discipline and spans 14 movement-related disciplines in an effort to highlight commonalities and influence scholars and researchers to consider cross-disciplinary collaborations that may otherwise go unheeded. As such, I view this book as an essential reference for graduate students and emerging scholars interested in understanding and contributing to research and scholarship pertaining to individuals with visual impairments in movement-related contexts.
