ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on journal research manuscripts pertaining to sport environmental awareness, the perceptions therein, interactive behaviour, industry motivations, and marketing promotions. A synopsis of each of the 21 manuscripts brings ongoing awareness of the breadth of knowledge on the topics. The gaps in the literature were ample and examples were offered. This means that there is an abundance of knowledge that remains unexposed that could aid sport in working towards environmental sustainability. A list of suggested future research directions that is supported with management literature research outside of sport is offered to encourage filling the gaps. Readers are encouraged to continue to explore this area of research in an effort to support sports’ actions that safeguard the future of sport.
