ABSTRACT

A small museum housed in a modernist building at the edge of a park. Its exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the Epirus region of north-western Greece from the Palaeolithic to early modern times. Its exhibitions are very well presented. The collections were created by the regional monuments protection service that engages in archaeological field studies and excavations. Behind the scenes are excellent stores, documentation and conservation facilities. The museum is an important addition to the cultural life of its region. It is an exemplary regional archaeological museum.
