ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces China’s system of tour guide education, training and administration. Tour guiding is a distinct major in China tourism education system. In parallel with the formal education of tour guiding in the education system, tour guide training has been systematically organized and implemented in the tourism administration system and by tourism enterprises. The chapter also reviews China’s tour guide administration system, which includes tour guide service standards, classification of tour guides in China and the relevant laws and policies on the management of tour guide as an important profession in tourism.
