ABSTRACT

This chapter selects Chinese and overseas well-known tourism colleges as practical examples and reviews the course contents and academic subject backgrounds of the selected tourism education institutions. The study featured in this chapter emphasizes the combination of theoretical learning and practical application, professional knowledge and general education, and the compatibility between course features and training objectives. Meanwhile, the differences of national conditions have generalized personalization and differentiation characteristics. Accordingly, diversity and distinction of development goals, service scope, and curriculum structure between Chinese and overseas talents are distinctly emphasized. It is noted that the curriculum in Chinese tourism education institutes requires improvement to narrow the gap with foreign tourism colleges and industry development.
