ABSTRACT

This chapter describes a collaboration between two teacher educators in Elementary Education and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) programs. The authors offered 15 pre-service teachers the unique opportunity to implement an integrated inquiry-based science and language learning enrichment program for bilingual K-7 children at an international school in Costa Rica. The chapter illuminates one way to enhance future content and ESOL teachers' capacity to design and deliver integrated, culturally responsive content and language instruction.
