ABSTRACT

This chapter reports on the design and delivery of a professional development study abroad program for in-service English language teachers from Western China. From 2015 to 2018, 243 participants attended the 14-week program hosted at Canadian university. Inspired by Kumaravadivelu's (2012a, 2012b) post-method approach to Global ELT, our program focused on promoting locally based instructional practices. We detail how post-methods guided our curriculum and draw on post-program data to examine its impact on local teaching practices.
