ABSTRACT

The organization’s databases, documents, guides, policies and procedures, software, and patents are repositories of organizational knowledge assets. The true standard of success for knowledge management is the number of people who access and implement ideas from the knowledge networks. “Knowledge is Power” was the traditional – and, today inaccurate – term that an earlier business generation inscribed in granite blocks over major buildings from educational and research edifices to corporate headquarters. The individual is responsible and accountable for procuring, protecting, promoting, and propelling value added knowledge assets at the personal level. The practice of managing knowledge assets is key to excellence for the individual, the family, and the organization. Describe/discuss/draw the connections and discuss the value of managing knowledge assets to achieve Total Innovation Management Excellence. The responsibility and accountability for managing knowledge assets belongs at the top of the food chain.
