ABSTRACT
The issue of meeting expectations of stakeholders is an ongoing task. From an organization or business standpoint, stakeholders are very important because they affect how an organization is managed and run, how significant financial decisions are taken, or how a project achieves its objective. The Stakeholder Mapping Grid is a useful tool that helps provide structure to the analysis of needs and expectations. The Stakeholder Mapping Grid analysis can put some structure into this discussion and decision-making process in order to help clarify the tradeoffs between stakeholders. The stakeholder manager in this example is a Product Manager introducing a new software product targeted at the business user. The Product Manager has decided to include management of stakeholder expectations in the overall product introduction plan. The Product Manager decides to use a project management tool to manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
