ABSTRACT

Sophisticated management methods rely on some basic beliefs that must be mastered before these methods can be applied. The employees began to resent management who, from the employee’s standpoint, was taking advantage of them. As a result, “human relations management” became the preferred management system. Human relations management is based upon the belief that if management treats the employee with respect and dignity, the employee’s performance will be maximized. In order to manage, innovative team managers must have social skills as well as business skills. Sophisticated management methods rely on some basic beliefs that must be mastered before these methods can be applied. Managers who have not mastered these basic beliefs stand in major exposure to being the individuals who are left out in the cold during the next restructuring cycle. The professional manager’s goal was to produce the maximum output with the minimum expenditure.
