ABSTRACT

If we are to embrace students' diversity and learning needs and to foster their academic success in a world of constant change, we must start working on innovation in learning and teaching seriously. It is crucial to rethink pedagogical approaches and to promote pedagogical innovation in teachers' practices in higher education. This book addresses the sustainability of pedagogical innovation that emerges from funded educational research, aiming to contribute to ground-breaking academic practice that can lead to the enhancement of students' academic success and experience. Some of the orthodoxies found in traditional forms of teaching and learning in higher education are challenged, and the debates that are relevant to the sustainability of pedagogical innovation are addressed.
