ABSTRACT
This final chapter summarizes the key findings and provides implications to advance graduate employability programmes in higher education. Specifically, it argues that higher education institutions need to engage students in employability programmes as soon as possible, enhance the effectiveness of work-integrated learning programmes, as well as connect with industries and employers. It provides practical advice to students and graduates who are activists of their own career development: how to articulate their employability, obtain hands-on work experience, develop and utilize social network, build up psychological attributes, and manage their career plans closely. This chapter also encourages higher education institutions to think about alternative methods used to measure graduates’ employability beyond the notion of full-time employment within 6–18 months upon graduation. Generally, this chapter sets out the way forward to employability agenda with shared responsibilities of several higher education stakeholders.
