ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the author narrates and reflects on her diverse career pathways in different cultures. She realizes that not all capitals have equal importance for each unique career journey. She interprets how her cultural, identity, and psychological (particularly adaptability) accumulated from previous work roles helped her obtain and perform well on the role of a scholarship coordinator in Kabul, Afghanistan, and working up to a project manager role in international education at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She projects that in this unstable work environment, graduates need a high level of flexibility and adaptability to navigate inevitable changes in the workplace and labour market and continue to thrive in their career.
