ABSTRACT

This chapter presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in part 1 of this book. The part identifies a set of skills the information managers, records managers, and archivists should have, while on the other hand, recognized many gaps in skillsets, knowledge, policies, legal regulations, and so on, that will need to be filled. It detects employee resistance, in the case of the introduction of new information governance models, caused by perceptions that innovative approaches were an attempt to control their actions. The part detects complexity and fragmentation of the legislative framework on cloud computing for electronic recordkeeping and digital preservation. Understanding and considering the data and information quality as an asset is beneficial to public administrations. By taking this path, they can offer better e-services to citizens and businesses, but also to themselves. By implementing the once - only principle, public administration can improve the services.
