ABSTRACT

The chapter provides an analysis of the interoperability possibilities of selected implemented governmental e-services between EU member states. Transborder data flow and exchange of data, as well as national-level identification and authentication credentials between governmental e-services, are needed to create a network of trust among the interconnected services. This chapter also focuses on different forms of collaboration on e-services and e-archives, and the creation of long term and sustained trust in digital information, which requires not only technical and legal requirements but also a clear vision for economic sustainability and a focus on communicating the benefits of the preserved information among all stakeholders.
