ABSTRACT
The chapter aims to highlight the role that members of the African diaspora can play in ensuring the renaissance of the African continent. Specific emphasis is placed on members of the diaspora who migrated to the United States to pursue higher education, for business, and job opportunities and their role in fostering economic development in Africa. The chapter goes into a deeper understanding of the African diaspora's contribution in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, investment, and human capital development. This chapter will also address the following: a brief description of Africans from the diaspora in the United States; the impact of the Africans in the diaspora; harnessing knowledge and resources of the African diaspora through convening, innovation, entrepreneurship, and investment; and notable example of the contribution of Africans in the diaspora.
