To make a successful playground, you need to consult the experts. No, not architects, but the children who will use it. Interboro have (done just that for a new playscape for Saint Louis, even appointing a ‘Youth Advisory Committee’ of engaged children. Working in this way requires (getting out of the office, and embracing a new set of tools and tactics, such as workshops, activities, and exercises, opening up the design process to new kinds of voices and perspectives.
