ABSTRACT

Regardless of Brexit, the British market remains one of the vital elements of the trade and investment chains in Europe. Therefore, in this chapter, we examine the role foreign-owned companies and foreign capital has so far played in the UK. We focus our attention first on the strategies generally adopted in the advanced economies to afterward turn toward the British market in specificity. We discuss the most recent determinants that play part in investment decisions and verify what kind of internationalization strategies were applied in that market. We also partly discuss the meaning of the Covid-19 pandemic on those strategies.
