ABSTRACT

This chapter considers how Anna Nikki’s provocative routine toys with the privileged movement aesthetic of classique to comment on chauvinism and the sexualization of women through a combination of flesh giggling and parodic audio of then president-elect Donald Trump. It proposes that her cheeky political commentary performs a version of femininity that embodies Levy’s theorization of female chauvinist pigs (FCPs). When Anna Nikki throws it back as Nitty Scott declares “patriarchy is a real thing,” her performance enacts the raunchy girl power of post-feminism and FCPs. She cites a model of excess feminine sexiness performed in commercial stripping as she body rolls against a pole. Anna Nikki’s sexy parody performance bites back at Trump. However, she does more than direct the thwack of her heels at him as an individual. Trump’s misogynistic comments cited within her routine reflect a culture in which male chauvinist pigs are ubiquitous.
