ABSTRACT

What effect does the Yellow Lounge, a format that takes classical music to club venues, have on visitor behavior, the aesthetic musical experience, and the dramaturgy of the concerts themselves? What possibilities for altering the classical concert experience does “borrowing” the well-known behavioral patterns of the club scene open up? In this interview, Martin Tröndle and David Canisius, founder, host, and previous resident DJ of the Yellow Lounge, discuss these and other questions.
