ABSTRACT
The word writing isn’t an action that is limited to western European histories. The word writing here speaks about Indigenous knowledge systems. Beadwork is an Indigenous knowledge/writing system. The word honours signifies value and value systems and continuance. The word prioritizes is directed towards our shared experience of colonial silencing. The words multiple centres is a decolonial gesture, and it is an invitation to honour the imagined/unimagined. The word practice informs our sense of movement and acknowledges the bodies who maintain that history of movement. Colonization is the forced removal of resources from Indigenous Territories; Resources include, and not limited to, the minerals under the ground, resources on the territory, the land, indigenous thought, Indigenous philosophy, Indigenous medicine and medicinal knowledge, Indigenous material object and Indigenous material technologies, and Indigenous bodies.
