ABSTRACT

Multidisciplinary professionals, such as art and museum educators and art therapists, and community members are persistently striving to help create personal, social, and cultural change and growth – often through art. This chapter will discuss how an art museum and an organization for juvenile offenders initiated and established long-term partnership through a group art therapy program. The authors will provide an overview of the timeline and steps taken to establish and launch the partnership, the goals and outcomes from program offerings, the importance of multidisciplinary roles and collaboration, and how the partnership has expanded since its inception.
