ABSTRACT
This chapter explores what’s going on behind postgraduate writing, as it isn’t simply writing, but a cognitively complex and challenging process of monological knowledge creation. It is an endeavour whose complexity is compounded if you aren’t aware of the principles that govern that prized feature of clarity in academic writing in English, especially if your first language prizes different features.
