ABSTRACT
The concepts of person and personal identity are pivotal in many debates in bioethics. Narrative theories of personal identity offer an alternative to traditional psychological continuity theories, and are suitable for capturing feminist thought about the self in several respects. This chapter locates narrative identity theories in the personal identity literature, overviews their main claims, and demonstrates their usefulness for feminist bioethics.
