ABSTRACT
This chapter summarizes digital health and its origins in Twentieth-Century legislative, biomedical, biotechnological, and medical-professional developments. It contextualizes these developments as they arise out of neoliberalism. The chapter describes contemporary digital health and its construction of patients as neoliberal subjects, while also outlining how digital health functions globally as an instance of capitalist accumulation.
