ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the concept of renewable energy and its application to modern society through a literature review of peer-reviewed journal articles. In so doing, aside from discussing the state of existing knowledge on the necessity of renewable energy, the chapter also reflects on the major issues, thematic debates and policy considerations that arise in relation to the topics of clean energy and its supply.
