ABSTRACT
From the county Cork we learn to-day, that the Insurrection Act is producing the best results, and has already restored tranquillity to the neighbourhood of Kanturk and Newmarket. The military, a few nights ago, scoured the mountainous parts of the country, and succeeded in making fifty or sixty prisoners, many of whom, after an examination before the Magistrates, were discharged; 14 were detained, 10 of whom were sent to Cork for trial.
