ABSTRACT
Colour Sergeant Thomas Faughnan was in the 6th Royal Regiment, and had been born in Fearnaught, Ireland in 1835 (he died in 1883). Faughnan joined the army in 1847, and served twenty-one years. Widely praised by his officers as the epitome of a non-commissioned officer, Faughnan was clearly delighted to be married.
