ABSTRACT
Thomas Faulkner (1777–1855) for many years kept a bookshop near the Chelsea Hospital. He was born to a family in the building trade and was self-educated. He became a topographer of Chelsea, Fulham, and Kensington, and his books on these parts of London became standard reference works in the nineteenth century.
