ABSTRACT

Youthful Immorality.—Mary Rogers, 15, was brought up on a warrant for neglecting to comply with the provisions of the Contagious Diseases acts.—Inspector Cront said the opponents of the acts had taken up her case, and had applied to the magistrate to have her released from their operation. She had been placed in a “home,” but had run away, and the society for the repeal of the acts had withdrawn from the case. She had given the officers appointed to carry out the provisions of the statute a great deal of trouble.—Mr. Patteson committed her to prison for 14 days.
