ABSTRACT

Sir J. Tyrell said that some days ago he asked the Under-Secretary for War a question as to the great state of destitution prevailing at Colchester among large numbers of soldiers’ wives and children, and the hon. gentleman said he had no information on the subject. Such a state of things was almost unaccountable; and he felt it his duty to read to the House the following letter, dated February 18, from the physician of Colchester Hospital:—
