ABSTRACT

Sir,—As you have admitted into your paper a representation of the distress among soldiers’ wives and families at Colchester, may I beg the admission also of the present letter, which is sent, not for the purpose of asking for subscriptions, nor of adding to the excitement on the subject already felt by many, but for the purpose of showing to those who have aided us in similar circumstances with money, and have promised more should it be needed, in what way the money has been employed, and also in the hope that our experience may be useful to the Colchester case?
