ABSTRACT
The adjourned inquest on the body of the little girl who was so barbarously outraged and murdered at Purfleet on the 9th inst., was brought to a conclusion on Monday. The jury, without hesitation, returned a verdict of “Wilful Murder" against Richard Coates, and he was committed for trial. At the same time they expressed an opinion against the education of female children by military schoolmasters, and this representation will be laid before the War Office.
