The following suggestion, made by the Daily News, ought to be acted upon at once by the War Office. Anybody who has witnessed the heart-rending scenes which take place on the occasion of the embarkation of a regiment for a term of Indian or colonial service must feel that England ought to do better for the gallant fellows she sends forth to fight her battles than to consign their wives and families to the tender mercies of Bumbledom and the Poor Law Commissioners:—
