ABSTRACT

This chapter describes an educational methodology developed by Alejandro Haiek and Lab.Pro.Fab that generates real infrastructure means of testing the roles architecture can play in societal change. The authors argue that these examples of resilient and multidisciplinary teaching practices set future architects to be inventors of a profession fitting for the fast-changing context we find ourselves in. If we can build bridges between this school of thought in South America and its European, Asian and North American counterparts, we will go a long way in establishing architectural pedagogies that address the climate crisis and resonate with global priorities.
