ABSTRACT

The aim of the survey discussed in this chapter was to analyse the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices in offshoring and outsourcing firms in Krakow, including their impact on the embeddedness of employees - the main stakeholders of the firms in the sector. Although activities in the field of CSR constitute an important element of a strategy pursued by transnational corporations, there is a knowledge gap in the literature on CSR as practised by multinational firms in Central and Eastern Europe. For this reason, the analysis covers the identification of CSR practices applied in the offshoring and outsourcing sector in Krakow and the prerequisites for involvement or lack of involvement in them. This informs our reflection on the activities (factors) which contribute to building relations with the employees in the host country.
