ABSTRACT

Large agglomerations constitute natural spaces for locating offshoring and outsourcing services, especially more advanced global business ones. The findings of the research conducted among the CEOs of firms representing the business process outsourcing and offshoring sector operating in Krakow warrant the conclusion that these firms are embedded in the city to a fairly high degree. Despite the increasing salaries, but thanks to the improving workforce qualifications, these firms are capable of performing ever more advanced processes. The perception of the city as highly attractive by the employees of firms operating in Krakow means that the latter can count on a stable access to a qualified workforce, which has a positive impact on their embeddedness. The quality of life is influenced not only by the broadly conceived working conditions, but also by such parameters as the quality of health care, cultural milieu, opportunities for leisure activities, or the quality of the natural environment.
