ABSTRACT

Daniel Tomlinson-Gray is a secondary school Media Studies and English teacher with more than 12 years of experience. He is the co-founder and director of LGBTed with Hannah Jepson, working with teachers and school leaders to increase the visibility of authentic lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and others (LGBT+) role models in schools. In this introduction, he outlines the themes and aims of the book and tackles the questions often raised by parents, governors and other colleagues when an LGBT+ teacher chooses to be "out" at work. He also encourages the reader to ask questions about their own inclusive practice.
